- Amanda Cox

I always loved creating as a child and became passionate about jewellery making after my sister returned, jewellery clad, from the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. I made costume jewellery from ironmongers wire and leather, sold it to school friends and had my first shop order when just a young teenager.

The Creative Journey of Amanda Cox

Amanda’s story began with a teenage fascination for personal adornment that soon grew into a lifelong passion for making. She went on to study silversmithing and jewellery at Plymouth College of Art & Design in the mid-1970s, immersing herself in the artistry and technical skill that would define her work.

Her career led her through Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter and later to Hatton Garden in London, where her creativity flourished within the world of designer silver jewellery. By the late 1980s, Amanda had established her own workshop and was showcasing her handcrafted pieces at Covent Garden’s Craft Market. In 1989, she began sharing her expertise as a lecturer at Plymouth College of Art & Design, inspiring the next generation of jewellery designers until 1998.

Sculptural Silver Inspired by Nature

Since 1998, Amanda has worked full-time from her studio in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, creating elegant silver jewellery collections that celebrate form, texture and natural beauty. We at Autumn and May instantly recognised the quiet elegance of her work and proudly began showcasing her pieces at our Greenwich store - a partnership that continues to be valued today.

From delicate bridal pieces to bold sculptural designs, Amanda’s portfolio is beautifully diverse. Her iconic Lily Collection remains especially admired for its graceful, nature-inspired elegance. Drawing continual inspiration from woodland textures, botanical details and organic shapes, her jewellery blends contemporary silver design with timeless style.

Whether chosen for everyday wear or a meaningful occasion, Amanda Cox jewellery captivates with its refined character and exceptional craftsmanship. More than adornment, each piece is an expression of artistry - designed to be worn, loved and treasured for years to come.
